Prof. Dr. Edhem Cebecioğlu

Ethem Cebecioğlu was born in 1951 in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara University’s Faculty of Theology in 1981.

He was abroad for a period of specialization. In 1990 he became a doctor with his thesis titled “Hacı Bayram Veli and His Understanding of Sufism”.

In 1991 he became Assistant Professor, then Associate Professor in 1993, and Professor in 1999. Currently he is a lecturer at the Ankara University’s Faculty of Theology and Head of the Department of Theology.

The foreign languages he knows are English, Arabic and Persian.
