Prof. Dr. Reşat Öngören

Reşat Öngören was born in 1963 in Unye. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 1988.

He completed his Master’s degree in 1990 and his PhD in 1996 in the Social Sciences Institute of the same university.

He was appointed as Assistant Professor to Istanbul University Faculty of Theology in January 2001. He became Associate Professor in November 2001 and Professor in 2007.

In 2019, he started to work as a faculty member at Üsküdar University Institute of Sufi Studies. He still continues his duty here
